How to Download and Install VLC Media Player for PC or Mac

VLC Media Player is a popular free cross-browser media player that plays virtually all media files, including the video files created by our any of our camera proudcts, including nanny cameras, hidden cameras, mini spy cameras, portable DVRs.

Due to the wide variety of video formats, it's hard to keep the default pre-installed media players on most people's computers up-to-date. Windows Media Player and Quicktime need regular updates to stay current with the latest video codecs.

That's the great thing about VLC Media Player - it includes all the latest video codecs and drivers, which can easily play all the newest formats, like the ones utilized by our different hidden camera systems.

To download and install VLC Media Player, follow these simple steps:

If you have a PC, go to the VLC Media Player for Windows Download Page. Mac users need to go to the VLC Media Player for Mac page.
We recommend doing a Right Click > Save As, and saving the installation file to your desktop.
Double-click to run the VLC Installation Setup file.
Follow the installation prompts to complete installation.
During setup , it will ask you which media files you would like to use to open with VLC by default. We recommend selecting ALL video types, which allows VLC Media Player to be the default player for all videos.
Once setup is complete, you can delete/remove the original installation file.

After you've got VLC installed, to open a video with VLC Media Player, simply double-click on the video file to open it. It will open and begin playing in the VLC Media Player window.

Tips and Tricks:

If your video needs to be rotated (for example if you used a keychain spy camera and your video was accidentally recorded upside down), open your video, and on the Menu Bar, click Tools, and then click Effects and Filters. Click Video Effects, then on Geometry, and click Transform. You can then rotate rotate 90, 180, or 270 degrees, or any degree in between.
Keep your player up to date by periodically clicking on Help > Check for Updates.
If your video is being played back on Windows Media Player, Quicktime, or another video player and the video looks all black and not showing the video playback, your player doesn't have the latest updated video drivers. Downloading VLC Media Player will likely solve this issue.
VLC Media Player is FREE and always has been free. Some fake sites are trying to charge people money to download the software. Always download it from the Official VLC Media Player site.
