Frequently Asked Questions
How many cameras can I pair and view at once with this system?
You can pair up to 16 cameras, but the included software can only view 4 at a time (quad-view). Certain iPhone apps allow you to multi-view up to 8 camera at once.
What do I need to set up my camera?
For the initial camera setup, you must directly connect the camera to your router with the included ethernet cable, and install the recording/monitoring software on your PC.
After the initial setup, do I need to leave my computer on?
No. Your computer is only required for the initial set up to configure the camera and wireless settings. After that, as long as your router is on, you'll be streaming your live camera view.
Do I need any special software to view the video remotely?
Not at all. You can use any standard web browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Google Chrome.
Is my video password protected?
Absolutely. When you access your video remotely, you'll need the username and password that you set up during installation. You can specify up to 8 username and password combinations.
How do I view the video on my smartphone?
You view the video the same way as your computer, by typing in your computer's IP address, port, and username and password.
Is there any certain app for the iPhone to view my video?
Yes - there are several 3rd party apps you can download and view multiple cameras. These apps are useful, but you can also use your phone's web browser to view the camera feeds.
